Monday I attended the funeral of a longtime family friend and church family member. This man served honorably in the Navy, loved God, his family, his church, community, his fair Snowdoun, and his fellow man. This man served others not because it was required of him by the government, but because it was what he knew God required of him.
As Taps was played on the lone trumpet and the flag was folded and handed to his family with reverence, I thought of what a fine example of America was this man, who passed those values and virtues along to all who were honored to know him. His character was of the highest esteem, a character becoming lost in our world today. The thought of what is happening to his generation, my children and future grandchildren are but one reason I stand here before you today to speak.
What of any consequence remains beyond the state's reach in the United States today? Not wages, working conditions, or labor management relations; not health care; not money, banking, or financial services; not personal privacy; not transportation or communication; not education or scientific research; not farming or food supply; not nutrition or food quality; not marriage or divorce; not child care; not provision for retirement; not recreation; not insurance of any kind; not smoking or drinking; not gambling; not political campaign funding or publicity; not real-estate development, home construction, or housing finance; not international travel, trade, or finance; not 1,000 other areas and aspects of economic and social life.
During the 1990s, the inflationary policy of the U.S. Federal Reserve fueled a tech-stock bubble. When that bubble burst, the Fed inflated a larger one in real estate. Now that the real estate bubble has burst, the Fed is inflating the biggest bubble of them all – a bubble in government.
Responsible people do not need another Government bubble. Responsible people never vote for those that wish or work to relieve us of our responsibilities to our selves, our families, our churches and communities. Responsible people make sure they match the campaign promises up to the actions of the elected, failure to make them pay by voting them out is irresponsible. The days of the voters being irresponsible and lazy are over. No long term or newly bred politician to hold office, no representative, senator, attorney general or governor, secretary of state, school board member, sheriff or other elected office will be safe from the wrath of the responsible voter who loves individual liberty, the Bill of Rights and the Constitution, if such elected official fails to respond to the will of WE THE PEOPLE.
A republican form of government should be as close to the people as possible, which means the decisions of local governing bodies must be respected. Where the decisions of local governments are disregarded, the voice of the people is also disregarded. Where the voice of the people is disregarded, the more frustrated and angry the people will become. What our state elected officials should know and feel is that we intend to take back our state sovereignty, thereby taking back our God given rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, happiness that allows us to keep the fruits of our labor and give as God. not man requires us to give. Charity at the point of a gun is not charity, it is theft. It is theft not only of our money but the right to decide for ourselves what to do with our time and talents.
Some believe that the state still keeps its hands off religion, but even that's not true. It certifies certain religious organizations as legitimate and condemns others. It assigns members of certain religions, but not members of others, as chaplains in the armed services. It even grants clergy certain privileges not available to others. Statism itself has become a religion for many Americans. Do they not honor the government above all else, even above the commandments of the religions they claim to embrace?
We've heard from some of our Senators on the floor in the State House of Alabama how greedy, Unchristian, uncharitable and intolerable we are because we believe in the 10th Amendment of the Constitution. Do they not realize we actually pay their salaries and allow them the opportunity to stand there and spew such venom, do they themselves know about the Constitution? Apparently their power has grown so large they start believing they are the source of our rights, granting them titles of nobility. A few of them know they have no opposition in the upcoming election, making them comfortable to say anything they please, but know this, their time will come.
The gravy train will come to an end and people will exercise responsibility in voting no matter the district in which they live.
Some of the Representatives and Senators, elected officials, in the State House down the street and in our Nation's Capitol do not even understand our Nation is a Republic, not a Democracy. They cannot understand why we the people do not want the Government managing our lives, much less our healthcare, they cannot fathom the concept of freedom. They cannot grasp that we know our rights come from God therefore they cannot grant them to us.
If you think I'm bashing Democrats only I want you to consider this. The “conservative index” that is published by “The New American”, rates congressmen based on their adherence to traditional constitutional principles. I won't go into how the scores are determined, suffice it to say 100 is the top score, the higher the number, the stronger the congressman's commitment to the constitutional principles. When the Republicans had control of the White house and Congress in 2006 the average score in the house was only 36, the average score in the Senate was only 26. The high score of 100 was made by one Congressman, dare you to guess who?, ten Republicans scored 0. The Democrats average score was 29, there were no 0 scores for Democrats.My point is, when you get ready to exercise your personal responsibility to vote you should thoroughly know the candidate. If your candidate cannot score at least 90 percent on the issue or issues on the conservative index or issues important to you and those in your district, you must not vote for them.
You must get out in your districts and knock on doors, talk to your neighbors, find the issues that are important and talk about them. Form blocks of people that feel the way you do and make sure they get out and vote. Form carpools and take them to the polls in buses if necessary, but make sure they vote. It is our responsibility to take back our lives, our liberties and our property, one door, one block, one district at a time until we have voted out those that worship at the altar of progressivism, and continue what was started by our founders and fought to preserve by millions since the inception of our once great Republic.
It is not only our responsibility it is our duty to save our State Sovereignty and Restore our Republic.

We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you.
May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen."

Wow! Just reading this speech gave me chill bumps. I would guess there were many not-so-dry-eyes in the audience that heard it. I hope it is being read, and heeded, by many.
