Pardon me if I seem obtuse, but what is so hard for our Government, from our City and local municipalities, halls of Washington D.C. to the highest Supreme Court Justice to understand about the meaning of liberty? The definition found in the Dictionary is clear and leaves little to the imagination.
Is the true meaning of the word not taught in the halls of our glorious bastions of education known as the public school system? Or is it being taught that our only source of liberty comes not from God's and natural law, but that the word is derived from the Government and only under such protection can man know liberty?
If the past few and present Presidential administrations is anything to judge, then I suspect the latter is now the meaning.
In the politically correct viewpoint of liberty, this means freedom for foreign nations via the lives of our young men and women. While I agree it is still a voluntary Armed Forces, I suspect the voluntary aspect is not far from being changed to "involuntary servitude", the meaning of which you can glean.
This new meaning covers various groups divided by sex, age, race, sexual preference, ethnicity and social class, but does not protect the rights of the individual. How can you truly have liberty for one class of people and none for the individual?
Can one experience Liberty and give up one third of all he earns before he picks up his paycheck? Or through enduring road blocks set up to check for Drivers License, Insurance, Registration and proper seat belt placement?
Is Liberty granted when from birth, man owes thousands of dollars to a Government that is so busy guaranteeing freedom for the rest of the world, that his money, life and livelihood and that of his progeny will be sacrificed to guarantee that unwanted and unsecured debt?
Are you free when you willingly give up liberty for a little security?
What does this word mean to you?
Do you believe that God, who made you in his image and offers you the choice to follow him or make your own way would deny you that liberty? Yet you will allow a man to make decisions for you as if he is above God.
Liberty does not lie in the hands or halls of Government, it is in the decision you make every day with the full knowledge that should you cross the road, you could get run over. No man owes you a living, a bailout or a life. No man has right to take your liberty by making decisions about how to spend time, give up private property or money, be it feeding, educating, clothing, insuring, sustaining another person's health care or offering him the assurance that he can retire at the end of his 20 years in the work force. Forcing man to make decisions for another negates the very basics of liberty and suffers a free man to be a slave to the whims, wants or supposed needs of the other.
Altruism and morality is not to be forced at the point of a gun or threat of imprisonment and when it is, it is not charity, it is theft.
It is time for every man, woman and child shackled by the burden of big Government to realize that this is the policy of tyranny and is in direct opposition of the liberty secured for us by our forefathers, grandfathers, fathers, sons and daughters.

Stand up, defend and demand your individual right to Liberty.

About DD for Liberty

We render unto Caesar, but we write Caesar's laws.
We should write and uphold laws that go no further than protecting your God given right to life, liberty and property, the pursuit of happiness.
I am a wife and mother that wants the best for her family. The best as I see it is for Government to get out of the way.
God is our protector and has equipped us with all the faculties and means necessary for a productive and free life and I need no man to tell my family what is best for them.
I am a Patriot and Libertarian.
I am a fan of the greatest Peacemaker Jesus.
Taxation is theft.
If you seek security over liberty you deserve neither.
My favorite quote:

“If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude than the animating contest of freedom, — go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen!”~Samuel Adams
